The UAE's Al Wathba Wetland Reserve is known for its magnificent wildlife, and mostly for its spectacular flamingo population.  Aside from the birds, the area is characterized by "islands" of bodies of water between salt flats, plants, sands, and dunes.  The year-round hot climate assures a warm surrounding for the migrating birds throughout the winter.

The Visitor Center was designed with the birds in mind.  It is planned as part of the surrounding so that it is unnoticed from the birds' eye view.

Our architectural choices and decisions were based first and foremost on the wildlife, on preserving their natural habitat and maintaining their environment peaceful and calm.  With that in mind, we created a center that lets one explore and enjoy the local plants and animals, as it enables the best possible view of the birds- be it on land, in the water or in the air.
