This is the place! This is the place for talking.
This is the place for laughing. This is the place for dealing with mission impossible.
This is the place for knowing what is important in life. This is the place for working.
This is the place for poker nights. This is the place for organising the next trip.
This is the place for dining, cooking, baking…..
This project is a renovation of a free standing house from the late seventies, located in Ramat Hasharon, Israel. Small openings, extended roof slabs and massive concrete cantilevers intend to keep out heat and sun light. In real, they caused the house to be a humid cave where there is no oxygen. Only after a dramatic opening-up, and after many tons of construction waste were wheeled out of the site, we could start creating a home that matches this young family’s happy, energetic and open-hearted life style.
Cooking and baking cements this family together. And the lady of the house takes it very seriously. So we positioned the kitchen like a pilothouse on a ship: centrally with lots of glass. From here the house fills with good smells. Therefore we know: this is the place! Home it is!
